HISTORY of FSA COUNSELING

  

  

FSA was founded through a $500 grant from Chauncey Rose in 1862. Originally dedicated to helping widows and orphans of the Civil War, FSA has changed to meet the needs of the day, even being a charter organization of our local United Way. Today, FSA provides counseling, crisis intervention, parent education, supervised visits, training in domestic violence to law enforcement, and other services.

 

 

IMPACT of FSA COUNSELING 

  

  

In 2010, FSA worked directly with over 1,100 people affecting over 4,400 lives.

FSA worked with 483 people in our counseling programs.

About 70% of our clients live in a household with a median income below the county average.

About 1 in 5 of our clients is under age 18.

 

 

COST of SERVICES

  

  

Fees for services are often covered by insurance or Medicaid. In addition, through the United Way, FSA is able to provide counseling at a reduced rate based upon household income. FSA also has a Victims of Crime Assistance grant for those who qualify.
